Combat Mode and New Map!

Kuixo

Hey everyone, we’ve just released a huge update! Here’s what we’ve been working on :)

v0.2.13 Update Notes

Major Additions

  • You can now play with up to 16 players!
  • New Combat Mode: Fight in free-for-all matches or team up.
  • New Map — Town Square: Explore new locations and try 19 new minigames.
  • Bots are here: Play solo against bots or add them to your lobby with friends.

Combat Mode

  • We added Combat Mode, where you can fight in free-for-all matches or in 2–4 teams.
  • You can play Combat Mode with 2–16 players or jump in solo against bots.
  • You can set the match duration to 5–10 minutes.
  • Earn points from kills and assists to reach the highest score.
  • Tied scores are decided by total damage dealt, and if that’s also tied, the match goes into overtime.
  • We added new cards to Combat Mode and divided them into 5 categories: **Weapon (burgundy), Attack (orange), Utility (yellow), Heal (green), and Defense (gray).**
  • We also included some cards from Classic Mode in the Utility category because we thought they could open up interesting strategies.
  • Instead of collecting materials and crafting, you pick up cards and card packs directly from the ground.
  • Green card pickups add a random card to your hand, while orange packs let you choose one of three cards.
  • We increased mana regeneration to 1 mana per second in Combat Mode only.
  • Equipped weapons now appear in your character’s hands.
  • We added animations and sounds for punches, kicks, and weapon attacks.
  • Respawning players now receive brief protection.
  • We added a panel where you can keep track of your teammates’ health.
  • The scoreboard, opened with **B**, now shows kills, deaths, assists, damage, and score.
  • We added a kill feed showing who killed whom and which weapon they used.
  • We redesigned the match intro and results screens.

New Map - Town Square

  • We added Town Square, featuring locations such as a bakery, tailor shop, magic shop, inn, blacksmith, and bookstore.
  • We created 19 new minigames, including baking bread, feeding a chicken, learning magic, and seeing the future.
  • We added a council result animation unique to Town Square.
  • We updated the map screen, location names, and crafting station icons for the new map.
  • Both Classic Mode and Combat Mode are playable on both maps.

Playing with Bots

  • Lobby hosts can now add and remove bots.
  • You can play with bots on both maps in Classic Mode and Combat Mode.
  • Bots have different personalities, collect resources and cards, use supported cards, and attack or retreat depending on the situation.
  • In Classic Mode, bots can contribute to tasks, report bodies, and vote during meetings.
  • Cursed bots can attack other players.
  • Bots can give short replies to some Turkish and English messages in lobby and meeting chat.

Gameplay and Lobbies

  • We added a dash move to both Classic Mode and Combat Mode, activated with **Q** (you can dash in the lobby too).
  • We added an emote wheel you can open with **T** to show expressions to other players.
  • We redesigned the game setup screen to include descriptions when choosing a mode and map.
  • Lobby hosts can now change the map and game mode without leaving the lobby.
  • We added an option to disable cards in the lobby settings (you can finally turn off Historian :)).
  • We updated the faction names in Classic Mode to Townsfolk and Cursed.

UI and Visual Improvements

  • We refreshed the main menu, in-game UI, settings, and info panel.
  • We added a section to the info panel where you can inspect materials and preview mana probabilities for three-material combinations.
  • We redesigned the key bindings screen and added customizable shortcuts for dashing, the scoreboard, and the info panel.
  • The name of your selected cosmetic now appears in the store and collection.
  • Messages from dead players now have a DEAD tag in meeting chat.
  • We improved visibility effects, fog, and dark areas behind walls.
  • We updated card and attack effects, along with target and range indicators.
  • We added translations for the new content.

Audio Improvements

  • We reduced large volume differences between sounds.
  • We fixed some effects that weren’t following the audio settings.
  • We cleaned up overlapping attack sounds in Combat Mode.
  • We adjusted the audio feedback for voting during meetings.

Bug Fixes

  • We fixed card effects such as music, size changes, and voice changes persisting after death or meetings.
  • We stopped names changed by the fake identity effect from carrying over into the next lobby.
  • Attempting to attack a teammate no longer consumes a weapon use.
  • We fixed minigame issues where objects were missing, shifted position, or remained on screen after closing.
  • We fixed character shadows and some animation transitions.
  • We fixed inconsistent team colors across different screens.
  • We resolved several issues with creating lobbies, connecting, and switching maps.
  • We added clearer messages for connection errors.

What’s Next?

  • A major store and chat interface revamp is coming in the next update!
  • We’ve started working on our third map!
  • We’ll be adding more cards and cosmetics!
  • We’ll be adding more minigames to both maps for Classic Mode!
  • We’re working on transition screens with different animations depending on how you died!
  • We’ll keep fixing bugs and improving the game based on your feedback!

We can’t wait to hear your thoughts and any bugs you run into! We hope you’ll have as much fun playing as we do!
