F-Corp Memo: 1.0 Plans

Hello!

As of the last major patch, Backrooms Cleanup Crew's story is complete! That's led plenty of folks to ask the question "Is Backrooms Cleanup Crew done?!", and the answer is not quite.

Since the start of Early Access, our focus has been on progressing and finishing the story, while adding improvements along the way where they were critical to supporting bigger and better levels, new gameplay, new lighting, etc. We've learned so much, both as developers and about our own game, and now that the story is complete, we want to go back and make improvements throughout the experience.

Things like:

• Improvements to Chapter 1 - taking a different approach to lore and cool moments more like Chapters 2 and 3. Levels will likely be similar gameplay wise to how they are now, but with a more cohesive and engaging narrative skeleton around them.
• Improvements to our UI - lobby creation flow, settings, level select, customization
• Consistency and improvements to lighting
• Dyeable W4SHR Washer Units
• New achievements
• More store unlocks (specifically cosmetics)
• No more Rank cap
• New store artwork and trailer
• Bug fixes, gameplay improvements and performance improvements

We acknowledge that we're doing things a little backwards compared to the usual road from Early Access to 1.0, but we think it's how we'll make the best game possible by the time we finally stick that big 1.0 sticker on it.

We don't think 1.0 is too far away! But we're not going to put a date on it juuuust yet. Keep following us here and we'll be sure to make a post once we've picked a date.
