Howdy, new Explorers, and welcome to the underground. We’re so excited for you to experience Core Keeper in our very first Steam Free Weekend since we launched in 1.0! What’s that? This is your first Free Weekend? Fear not! We’re here to tell you everything you need to know to get started on your adventure.

What Is a Steam Free Weekend?

From Thursday the 8th to Monday the 12th of October, we’re giving you the chance to play Core Keeper for free! Unlike a demo, which is typically limited to a small section of the game, the Free Weekend gives you access to the full Core Keeper experience, including online multiplayer. When the Free Weekend is over, the game will remain in your Steam library along with your save data so that you can pick right up where you left off if you choose to purchase the game and continue your adventure.

That being said, we made sure our Free Weekend just so happened to land in the middle of a sale so that you’d get the chance to grab Core Keeper at an awesome 40% discount if you did want to jump back in! Just a heads up that this offer ends on October 22nd.

There are currently 9 biomes and 7 sub-biomes for you to discover, each with its own unique flora, fauna, and features. The world of Core Keeper is vast and varied, with puzzles to solve, threads to follow, and thrilling adventures just waiting for you. Whether you’re the kind of person who loves to reveal every inch of the map or you’re more interested in gathering loot or collectibles, there’s no end to the wonders you can discover as you traverse the underground on foot, via minecart, on the back of a trusty mount, by boat, or behind the wheel of a go-kart!

:GLOW_TULIP: For the Cozy Gamers

With gorgeous lighting, beautiful environments, and a magical soundtrack, Core Keeper provides the perfect backdrop for cozy gaming. Build your very own base, completely customisable with decorative objects available in a wide array of colours and designs. Hatch pets and have them accompany you on your adventures. Raise cattle, tend to crops, spend some time fishing, or simply relax by a campfire. The underground is a vibrant, living world that might seem dangerous at first, but it’s equally full of cozy corners where a player can thrive rather than simply survive.

:COREKEEPER_SWORD: For the Combat Lovers

Of course, there’s nothing stopping you from taking a guns-blazing approach to your adventure if you’d prefer! We’ve got more weapons, armour, off-hand items, and accessories than you can shake a pickaxe at, many of which are upgradeable and reinforceable. Hone your skills and unlock unique talents to customise your build and become the ultimate force of nature in the underground. There are enemies abound and bosses to be defeated on your path to powering up the Core, and the difficulty scales depending on whether you’re going solo or working as a team in multiplayer. With optional boss battles and combat arenas for you to test your mettle, there’s no shortage of challenges to face and victories to be had!
