Hold The Line

Hold The Line - Update 0.2.0-alpha

The Big Studio

New Features

  • Redesigned UI — health (percentage), sprint and flashlight battery (segmented bars), the wave / zombies-left / kills counters, and the co-op player list have all been rebuilt for a cleaner, more modern look.
  • Punchier combat (gore) — zombies spray blood when hit; arms that take enough damage get dismembered, with blood gushing from the stump. Dynamic blood splatters land on floors and walls, then fade over time.
  • Co-op assist system — deal at least half of a zombie's health but a teammate gets the kill, and you earn a bonus equal to 50% of their reward (the killer's payout isn't reduced). A blue ASSIST popup appears on screen.
  • Intro sequence — starting a new game now plays an atmospheric narration (voiceover + sequential subtitles) before the first wave. Subtitles in 8 languages.
  • 3 new zombie animations — a new attack plus extra walk/run variants for more lively, varied movement.

Improvements

  • Major performance boost — up to 3× higher FPS in some areas (e.g. 50 → 150+). Volumetric fog, resolution scaling (FSR / dynamic resolution), and graphics settings overhauled; much smoother on lower-end hardware too.
  • Zombie animations overhauled — zombies now walk and run without foot-sliding, in sync with their footsteps; far smoother and more natural.

Fixes

  • VSync fix — turning VSync off in settings didn't actually disable it (FPS stayed capped). It now turns off properly.
