Hold The Line - Update 0.3.2-alpha
Hold The Line v0.3.2-alpha
Controller support, Steam achievements, a brand-new leaderboard and a long list of fixes. Here is everything in this update:
Controller support is here!
You can now play the whole game on a controller: menus, store, loadout, lobby, settings and, of course, the fights. Xbox and PlayStation controllers are detected automatically, and the on-screen button prompts switch to match yours. Reach for the mouse and everything goes back to keyboard prompts.
- Light aim assist: Your aim slows down a little over zombies and gently follows moving targets. No snapping, no lock-on. You can turn it off in the settings.
- Vibration: When you shoot, throw a grenade, fight up close or take damage.
- New GAMEPAD tab in Settings: Sensitivity, invert Y, vibration, aim assist and the full button layout.
- On-screen keyboard: Type your join code and nickname with the controller. On Steam Deck, Steam's own keyboard pops up.
- Button layout: Left stick move, right stick look, RT shoot, LT aim, A jump, tap X to reload / hold X to interact, tap Y for the next weapon / hold Y for the weapon wheel, RB grenade, LB syringe.
Steam achievements
10 achievements to hunt down: First Watch, Hold The Line, Gravedigger, Nailed It, Melon Season, Fireworks, Unstoppable, Untouchable, Last One Standing and Unbreakable. The ACHIEVEMENTS button in the main menu now shows which ones you've unlocked and how close you are to the rest.
- Achievements only count on the default match settings. If you change them, you'll get a heads-up.
- For the "single run" wave achievements you need to start from wave 1. Picking a run back up with CONTINUE or LAST SAVE still counts as the same run.
- In co-op, everyone earns their own achievements.
New leaderboard screen
The LEADERBOARD in the main menu has been redesigned from scratch and now matches the Store and Loadout screens.
- Tabs for Solo, 2, 3 and 4 player runs (LB / RB on a controller), plus a Global / Friends switch.
- Gold, silver and bronze badges for the top three, Steam avatars for every player, and your own row highlighted with a "YOU" tag.
- A Your rank bar is always at the bottom: see your position and total kills no matter where you are on the list.
- Unsupported symbols in Steam names no longer show up as boxes (□).
- The LEADERBOARD button in the main menu now has its own icon (it was showing the LOADOUT icon).
Gameplay fixes
- Zombies can't hit you while they're facing away anymore. Standing behind or next to a zombie that's attacking the Core or a barricade no longer hurts you.
- Lunging zombies now deal damage the moment the hit actually lands. Back off in time and they miss.
- In co-op, nailing boards onto barricades between waves no longer counts as kills for your combo and level XP.
Abandoned Police Station
- Fixed the floor (and the far ceiling) disappearing from certain angles. You'll notice it most if you play with a high FOV.
- Fixed walls sticking out or poking through each other, closed thin gaps between walls and cleaned up overlapping pieces.
Languages & translation
- The tutorial and the level-up notification are now available in all 8 languages: Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Russian and Chinese players see their own language instead of English.
- The TAB level menu is no longer stuck in Turkish: all 26 perk names and descriptions, the level, XP, the PICK button and the hints follow your language.
- The tutorial window's title is translated too, and long languages no longer spill text onto the page counter below.
- Chinese text now shows up properly instead of boxes (□), and missing letters in Russian are fixed.
- Turkish letters (ı, İ, Ş, Ğ) now use the game's own fonts everywhere, including the "Preparing Wave" banner between waves.
- Main menu button labels now stay inside their buttons in every language.
- The tabs at the top of the Settings menu now fit in every language, and the GAMEPAD tab no longer hides under the close button.
Audio
- New Voice Volume slider in Settings > Audio: radio chatter, the first wave narration and announcements now have their own volume, separate from music. Turning the music off no longer mutes them.
- Game over music and sounds now follow your volume settings.
Menus & interface
- The interface now fits every screen: no more overlapping menus or drifting HUD on 21:9, 32:9, 16:10 or 4:3.
- With Settings open in the pause menu, you could accidentally click the hidden "Main Menu" and "Quit" buttons behind it. Fixed.
- The pause menu now stays on top of everything: health, money, kills, the crosshair and other on-screen info no longer show through it.
- The crosshair no longer stays in the middle of the screen when the game is paused.
- Pressing ESC on the game over screen no longer opens the pause menu on top of it.
- Closing the workbench with ESC no longer opens the pause menu as well.
- The character on the LOADOUT screen no longer stands in a T-pose: they now hold your chosen starting weapon, with new lighting and a cleaner background.
