Hold The Line - Update 0.2.2-alpha

The Big Studio

Gameplay

  • R870 shotgun reworked from the ground up: Now a true zombie-game shotgun — pellets punch through the first zombie and damage the one behind it, pellet count and damage are up (one-shot kills up close, one-shot headshots from a fair distance), effective range is longer and impact force is stronger. Perfect for mowing down packed hordes. For balance, shotgun reserve ammo is now capped at 50.
  • MP5 Buffed: It now kills zombies with 4 headshots instead of 5. It's now about half as powerful as the AKM.
  • Bullets now shoot through barricades: Barricade planks no longer fully stop your bullets — they punch through and hit the zombie behind at 70% damage. You can now shoot the zombies chewing on your barricade without waiting for them to tear it down. Planks take no damage from bullets — only zombies can still break them.
  • All weapon sounds boosted: Every weapon's firing sound is now 25% louder (including tail/echo layers); the MP5 — which was recorded far too quiet — was additionally re-leveled to match the loudness of the other weapons. Your teammates' gunfire in co-op got the same boost.
  • Zombie pit fall polished: Fixed zombies occasionally gliding down the slope in a walking pose, and getting teleported back to the upper edge before finishing the descent. The fall is now consistent every time: a natural drop off the edge, a tumble at the bottom, then back on their feet and attacking.

Fixes

  • All sounds now respect the volume settings: Fixed certain sounds (button clicks, combo, death notification, panel sounds, purchases, taking damage) ignoring the volume settings entirely — including master volume. Since the issue depended on startup order, it could show up on random sounds; it's now fixed at the root. Master volume controls everything, and the SFX slider controls all effect and interface sounds.
  • Bunker interior now lights up properly: The flashlight (and other lights) couldn't illuminate the bunker's interior walls and floor — it stayed pitch black even when you pointed your light straight at it. This visual bug caused by the bunker's material has been fixed; the interior now receives light the way it should.

Co-op

  • Death notification (skull): A skull icon now appears on a fallen player's row in the top-right player list — with a stamp-like splash effect and a notification sound. The icon disappears when they're revived. Who's down is now obvious at a glance.
  • Reload animation: Teammates now play a visible reload animation on their character when swapping magazines (separate animations for pistols and rifles, synced with the reload sound). Previously you'd hear the sound but the character wouldn't move.
  • Teammate stats while spectating: When you die and spectate a teammate, the on-screen health, money, ammo, grenade, sprint and flashlight battery indicators now show the values of the player you're watching (previously your own frozen values stayed on screen). The "Spectating: Player" label was simplified, moved down so it no longer overlaps the remaining-zombies counter, and no longer collides with the "left click: next player" hint below it.
  • Player positions sync at the end of every wave: Position drift that could make a player appear in the wrong place on others' screens after dying/reviving is now corrected automatically at the end of each wave. E.g. the host appearing in the wrong spot after a revive no longer sticks around.
