March Out!

Playtest Preview 2.7.35: The Wall of Crowns & Battlefield Cleanup

Mason Brignac

Commanders,

The next March Out! Playtest update gives your victories a place in the castle, puts a cleanup crew on the battlefield, and tackles more of the feedback you've shared.

The Wall of Crowns in the Hall. Preview shown with sample standings.

Earn your place on the Wall of Crowns

A physical leaderboard now stands inside the Hall: statues honor the top three players, with plaques for the top ten and a lectern showing your own standing.

Walk up to Your Standing and press E . Browse 21 ranking categories spanning War Rating, campaign records, and online records. Change the category and the statues, names, and scores change with it. Different accomplishments deserve their own champions.

Meet the battlefield cleanup crew

Three noncombat attendants per side collect settled casualties with their covered cart. They have a job to do, even when the battlefield is a mess.

Body limits follow your graphics preset: 100 on Performance, 200 on Balanced, and no forced count limit on High or Ultra . The attendants continue working at every quality level, and cleanup also removes associated dropped equipment. We've improved casualty settling to help bodies come to rest properly on the terrain.

Learn by doing

The War Table now offers Learn to Command : six illustrated, replayable practice lessons covering recruitment, optional auto-recruitment, returning to your command hall, shields and wall weapons, foundation defenses, and kingdom income.

Practice uses its own army and purse. Additional guidance explains recruitment shortfalls, map locations, and how to reopen your kingdom's controls.

Keep your company together

Post-battle returns to the Hall have been updated to preserve your party until you choose to leave or disband. Defeat screens give Return to Hall a prominent place while keeping retry available.

Surviving campaign mounts carry into the next siege with their remaining health. Destroyed mounts still need replacing.

More mischief between marches

Earned trophies can be knocked over, and display statues tumble when struck. The Hall Steward can restore the room when you're finished rearranging it; your unlocks stay yours.

This update also improves cape movement, hand placement, catapult presentation, and traversal around battlements, gates, and tower edges.

This is a preview of Playtest 2.7.35 for Windows and macOS. Once the update is available, we'd especially like your feedback after consecutive multiplayer battles and returns to the Hall.
