Demo v84: GUIDED TUTORIAL mode!!

Remaining Games

V84 DEMO Revision Notes:

New Features:

-New GUIDED TUTORIAL mode, accessible from the main menu!

-Research Station base upgrade implemented - content for Rural House is complete. Locations with research documents now show a book icon on the destination board.

-Info screen in rec room fully implemented. Displays new content for each day, fully interactive, displays date and time.

-Added a little hat that can be found and put onto the head of the cat - more hat varieties coming!

-Ghosts hit with wrong/exploding trap now bleed Enticine based on how many wrong traps they went through. Decals and spew all over the place. So using traps to determine the ghost now can effectively cause a lot of Enticine to be wasted.

-a big pile of new Halloween physical objects and illusions, all with their own hit sounds - there are now various Halloween collectables that can be found that are only in the game for a limited time. And YES, you will be able to bring these items from the demo into the full game!

Demo specific changes:

-changed up what ghosts are in the demo

-In the demo, if all locations are hard, the difficulty roller will try to reduce the difficulty of one of them with mild weather.

-demo max quota days set to 8 (tells player thanks for playing on destination board, and a link to the full game steam page), resets not allowed in demo

General Improvements:

-Added two one-time hints that pop up when a location gets easier or harder because of time and weather changes

-Destination board now shows the enticine potential of each location

-A large number of new illusions added across all levels

-Serin "base out of energy" VO line now plays on all speakers

-Watch now shows Days that correspond to the Quota day, not the calendar day, so watch and world are now in sync.

-paramic will no longer pick up door creak sounds

-When crafting something, the players crafting screen no longer closes on its own.

-Crafting something while an item or items are on the crafting station board will result in those items being sent to the players items wall

-While the crafter is building something, the player will see a notice in the crafting screen "Building..." and will not be able to click the craft button again until crafting is done. Eventually we may allow queuing of items to craft.

-Challenge locations overhaul:

-Challenges only pay their bonus once per challenge period (day, or week). Players can no longer farm the challenge all day instead of playing other locations.

-Progress builds up across visits. Each time the crew gets home from the challenge, that visit's share of the ghost's Enticine and of the location items' Enticine counts towards completing the challenge.

-Once complete, the challenge no longer gives its extra reward, but it can still be replayed for fun with its added difficulty

-Progress resets when a new challenge period comes around, so the location can be completed again when the rotation brings it back

-Enticine from an excursion is now only locked in once the crew gets home:

-Quota still updates as you deposit Enticine, but it only counts for real at the end of the excursion

-Quitting the game mid-excursion (including the host quitting to the menu) loses that excursion's Enticine and challenge progress. No more pulling Enticine and quitting before returning.

-If the quota day's grace period runs out while the crew is still out, the Enticine they're carrying still counts towards that day

-Player sanity now drops while holding enticine items, along with post process FX and audio ambience

-enticine item distribution now has a MIN and MAX amount of items to give to the level and will properly distribute enticine so all those items get filled, unless there isn't enough to go around, in which case there will be fewer small items

-Skulls on the destination board now match the new difficulty multipliers

Tweaks:

-drone can no longer light fires

-Spectre no longer has spirit box evidence

-changed mug to pink

Tuning:

-Upped some Base Upgrade prices...

-Trap costs 300 now

-Traps now leech at a rate of 50/sec, and a ghost that entered the trap will be leeched for a min time of 1.5 seconds no matter what. So a ghost grazing the outer edge or super fast ghosts will no longer pull super low numbers, will always be at least 75 pulled.

-Increased trap stay open time to 40 seconds

-Smallest enticine amount on items is now 30

-The cost of player revives during an excursion now increases exponentially

-XP level curve updated - upped the amount of experience needed to level up in general (this will very likely change again for sure...)

-Reduced weather and time mults

-Increased enticine multipliers per location type, so larger locations are worth more

-more enticine in the easy levels in general (entities and objects)

-upped enticine amounts in objects for the higher mults

-normalized the Quota increase rate to match up with the new mults

-adjusted Quota randomness

-Hunt durations from difficulties reduced. No more >2 min waiting in a closet.

-Sanity loss from ghost events now scales with difficulty - much lower on easier locations, a bit higher than before on the hardest ones

General Fixes:

-fixed a NONE error in the coffee machine animation when a sound finished already and became invalid to be faded out

-radiation pockets now detect when their owner is destroyed and clear themselves (just in case, most things cleaned themselves up properly)

-radiation pockets now properly go dormant. There was a definite case where radiation could get stuck in a position on a clients machine and never get returned to the pool because of how its network dormancy was set up while the radiation wasn't relevant to the client.

-fixed cat chasing the laser dot when the tool was off

-added a failsafe for the cat AI, if it gets stuck it will teleport itself to get around whatever issue it is

-fixed mugs not being saved in cabin

-fixed garage door bones not updating on the server when the server player isn't around. The appearance updates for clients but the servers bones / physics bodies never updated and while when the server entered the area the bones would snap, the physics bodies did not update which is also an engine bug.

-fixed some posters and paintings having bad or extra illusions

-fixed reset VO lines not playing for clients

-Fixed ghost enticine amount being calculated before the current excursion's multipliers were ready. This caused the previous excursion's multipliers to apply erroneously to the current excursion

-fixed ghost event chance not increasing with difficulty like it should

-fixed a case where the paramic sound mix could be pushed twice and only popped once leaving the user with permanent reduced SFX audio volume

-fixed a loop in the weather sound settings causing weathers volume to be set incorrectly

-If no valid spots can be found for enticine items, fallback spots will be used so a level always gets its enticine items

-fix for pawn icons erroneously showing up for player avatar icons in multiplayer games

-Proper clearing of the enticine deposit hint so it doesn't come back up if the player has finished depositing enticine before

-fixed the youtube channel link on the main menu which was pointed to nothing

-fixed an entity behavior issue

Rural House:

-Radio "content" is now content complete, but still some more polish to come here.

-Kitchen items on the house walls are now physical objects and can be picked up,

Suburbs:

-fixed a too thick wall

-fixed some posters not grabbable

-made bookshelf doors interactable

-fixed fireplace collision

-more collision fixes for walls and holes
