Development Update #17: Server Browser, Match Settings & More!
Development Update #17: Server Browser & More!
Hi everyone!
Update #17 introduces the Server Browser, giving players more control over how they host and join games. We've also made several gameplay improvements, fixed various bugs, and have a new map on the way!
Server Browser
The new Server Browser allows players to host and join public games more easily. When hosting a game, your server will be private by default, meaning only your friends can join. You can switch your server to public through the match settings, allowing anyone to join, and customize your server's title to help identify your lobby.
Servers will also display tags such as Modded and Custom Map, depending on the host's setup. If a server requires mods you don't have installed, you'll be shown the required mod names and versions so you know exactly what you need before joining.
Hosts have control over match settings and can kick or ban players from their lobby. Steam blocks are also respected, meaning if a host has blocked you, you won't be able to join their games. Players who have blocked each other on Steam also won't be able to hear each other through VOIP while playing on another player's server.
Please note: The Server Browser is still very early in development and may have bugs or unexpected behavior. If you encounter any issues when hosting or joining games, please report them to help us improve the system.
Upcoming Map: Suburbs
We're also working on a new Suburbs map, arriving in an upcoming update! This map will feature a larger environment with more stores to explore and rob. More details will be shared as development continues.
